- Texts may have an introductory sentence.
- Can be a "topic" ege aminim or a "topic" nom egeng, but rarely.
- Usually just a bit of background info
- "We were at our place."
- "Samuel gave me a pig."
- "I saw my pig's testicles were ready to remove."
- Hortatory texts may start with an opinion, background fact or an exhortation to listen
- "You should listen"
- "You didn't get a good husband"
- "I have thinking to tell you"
- “My child, my son I am going to tell you my knowledge”
- “What kind of talk have you been talking and going around?”
- “How the things came down to his place (heaven) that we don’t know”
- Texts usually end with an "ege anggom" that signals the end of a speech.
- There doesn't seem to be a way to signal peak.
